Postal / ZIP codes in Costa Rica are five-digit numeric codes which are associated with and identify a unique district in the country. Districts are the third administrative level in the country. They are managed by the Correos de Costa Rica which provides postal service in the country. The first digit denotes one of the seven provinces, the second and third refer to a specific canton in the parent province, and the last two digits represent a specific district within the canton. There are currently a total of 492 Postal / ZIP codes in Costa Rica.
